No reason to use EPS. No transparency support. Both formats seem to preserve text fine.

Math

  • $ .. $ vs \( ... \) is tough. latter is preferred, but a bit unreadable
  • do not use $$ ... $$ (plain TeX syntax)
  • do use \[ ... \] (for unnumbered)
  • do use \begin{equation} (for numbered)
